Rappers love rockin’ their name on gold chains and if you ask me, that’s tacky. I’d much rather prefer pullin’ up to the scene with my mom’s first initial on my belt and maybe with the ceiling missing too. Maybe.

I know, I know – I am consistently inconsistent. Although it’s been nearly two months since my last post, I’ll have you know that all I’ve been wearing is the same pair of yoga pants and alternating between a few select shirts. But anyway, I’m all caught up with my TV shows so I’ll be awkwardly posing in front of my mom more often (she takes most of my pictures, especially the ones out of focus).

I usually dress accordingly to weather but when I don’t, it’s because I woke up knowing I’d be spending the day in an Alaskan igloo aka air conditioned room. I really, really can’t stand overly air conditioned rooms and I say that in the most non-bitchy tone (if possible). I just don’t like cold arms, okay? (again, non-bitchy). I wouldn’t normally wear black with hot pink mainly because I don’t want to look like my middle school font/background color on AIM but I’m already off with the whole weather thing so…

There are some things I just can’t seem to get enough of – Game of Thrones, avocado, and all white everything. I think saying this is my favorite style is an understatement since almost every look is my “favorite” at some point in time (I have yet to forgive myself for a brief obsession with clogs). But anyway, white is my absolute favorite. Bold and striking in the most subtle manner and sometimes maybe a little too eye-catching if you’re one of those messy taco eaters. Don’t worry, you’re not alone.

I wore this jumpsuit for my birthday dinner seen here and ever since, I haven’t had a chance to wear it – mainly because I don’t have anywhere to go and partially because I have an inclination of categorizing clothes under the labels: daytime or nighttime. Once deemed, I tend to be inflexible about changing my mind (I am just so adaptive). However, it’s safe to say I’m a little less anal now (in this aspect, at least). I’ve learned to dress down outfits that I strictly considered appropriate for a night out by emphasizing “less is more”. Simple measures of avoiding over-accessorizing, too much make-up and drastic hairdos can make an effortless transition into brunch with a few girlfriends. Or in my case, picking flowers in grandma’s backyard.

I have some pretty bad habits and one of the worst being my addiction to little black dresses. I’ve lost count of how many sit in my closet and the sad thing is, I can’t tell any of them apart. Seriously, they all look exactly the same – I guess hindsight is 20/20 because at the time of purchase, I could’ve sworn it was different and better than the rest (relatable feeling when it comes to dating, Pinkberry, etc).

I was mainly drawn to this particular dress for its material – artificial leather. Seeing how most of my LBD collection consists of cotton and rayon blends, a change in fabric gives this generic form a little more attitude. Good attitude, of course.

{I’ve finally given in to this whole “comb your hair” thing so I’ll give it a shot soon}

Ryan and I attended his company’s annual party last night and the moment he mentioned it was semi-formal (two weeks prior to event), I began to stress out. As a considerably extreme person, “semi-formal” confuses me to no end. I don’t know whether I’m expected to show up in chocolate stained sweats with Uggs or shamelessly arrive in my ’97 flower girl dress. But recently, I’ve found something in-between the two extremes for this particular dress code – cropped tops and pencil skirts. Both simple elements that create the perfect balance between chicness and formality. Although crop tops are relatively casual, long-sleeves render them a bit more prim and reserved, making suitable for an office friendly skirt.
